
JAYCOB DAVIES
SENIOR STAFF GEOLOGIST
Overview
Jaycob Davies is a Senior Staff Geologist for the Riley Group, Inc. with five years of experience providing environmental consulting and geotechnical engineering support services. Prior to joining the RGI team, Jaycob obtained his BS in Geology from Western Washington University where he conducted research on fluvial geomorphic processes on Glacier Peak- one of the five major stratovolcanoes of the Cascade Volcanic Arc.
Since joining RGI, Jaycob has performed dozens of Phase I and Phase II ESA’s throughout the Pacific Northwest. Jaycob’s geotechnical experience focuses on construction monitoring where he provides clients with comprehensive field reports detailing the construction’s progress as well as monitoring both soil and stormwater conditions. When Jaycob isn’t busy researching a property's history or confirming the adequate compaction of soils, Jaycob can be found at various dog parks with his partner and their dog Winston.
Technical Experience
Mr. Davies joined RGI’s environmental team in 2022 before transitioning to RGI’s geotechnical team where he now focuses on providing geotechnical project managers with an array of geotechnical field support services. He provides compaction testing on utility installs, wall constructions, and grading activities on various construction projects for clients throughout the greater Puget Sound area. He also conducts site-specific stormwater inspections to ensure the best management practices are being performed throughout a project’s construction’s progress.
Mr. Davies supports RGI’s project managers by providing site-specific historical research for Phase I and II ESAs and assisting with final documentation and report preparation. He has experience utilizing a variety of sampling methods to collect soil, groundwater, and air (vapor) samples for contamination characterization. He has performed soil sampling using MTCA and US EPA 5035 specifications and methodology, as well as conducted field screenings of soils for VOCs using a gas analyzer equipped with a Photoionization Detector (PID).
